Day 20

01.20.2010 | monkey feet
01.20.2010 | monkey feet

James found an old baby outfit that looks like a monkey suit and has been wearing it around for the past couple of days. Since it's only 12 month sized however, it doesn't exactly fit. :)

Other photos from the day:

Here's the front of James' monkey suit. As you can see, the fit leaves a bit to be desired. When he tried to get both his arms and legs in the proper holes, I had to take it away from him. Too bad they don't make things like this in 5T; he'd be in little boy heaven!

Peter has the funny habit of taking his sock off, only one, and usually the right foot. Here he was, sitting on the couch holding his sock and watching a toon.

still watching his toon, guess his pants needed to be snapped up :)

Day 19

01.19.2010 | we love dessert
01.19.2010 | we love dessert

This is seven of the nine kids that were at our house today.. it was a little crazy! I have another photo for today that I like better on my cell phone, but I don't know how to get it off, so this will have to do ;)

Day 18

01.18.2010 | cheery
01.18.2010 | cheery

I was out taking photos of the seemingly never-ending rain, when I noticed these buds on the camila outside our front door. I thought they seemed so much cheerier than all the grey skies in the rest of the photos I took today.

Day 17

01.17.2010 | misery
01.17.2010 | misery

When we got home from church, we found our sweet dog standing in the front yard. How she got out of the backyard I have no idea, but she'd apparently been hit by a car. Here she is after surgery on her leg, simply miserable in her "cone of shame."

Day 16

01.16.2010 | sweet kisses
01.16.2010 | sweet kisses

Even though I didn't take these photos, and even though I hadn't even brushed my hair yet that morning, and even though Peter's face is covered in breakfast, these are still my favorites from the day because it was one of the happiest parts of my day. He would give me a big old smooch on the cheek, or nose and then laugh like it was the funniest thing he'd ever done. I wish I could bottle up these moments to relive when the boys are grown and gone!

Day 15

01.15.2010 | go away
01.15.2010 | go away

I went into the boys' room at 9 o'clock to see if they were up yet, but they weren't. I thought John looked so sweet sleeping that I crept back out to get my camera. He woke up just as I was taking his picture though, and to say that he was grumpy would be a major understatement. Apparently he was not yet ready to get out of bed!

Day 14

01.14.2010 | a bit of baking
01.14.2010 | a bit of baking

I don't usually make my own bread, but we were having company and I just felt too tired to load the boys up and go to the grocery store. These were good, but I thought they looked better than they tasted. I guess I'll have to keep looking for the perfect dinner roll recipe.

Day 13

01.13.2010 | the end of a long day
01.13.2010 | the end of a long day

I spent the day with my sister, cooking and freezing meals. I used the extra ingredients to make chicken soup for dinner... a yummy meal at the end of a long day.

Day 12

01.12.2010 | full of friends
01.12.2010 | full of friends

I went to get Peter up from his nap, and he'd managed to pull all of the animals out of the basket into his bed. I don't know how he found room to sleep in there.

Day 11

01.11.2010 | broken, dusty time
01.11.2010 | broken, dusty time

This antique clock from Simon's side of the family unfortunately got broken in our last move. Now it sits uselessly on top of one of our bookshelves, awaiting the day we get around to fixing it.

Day 10

01.10.2010 | five year old fashion
01.10.2010 | five year old fashion

James has been wearing these slippers every day lately... it was with great difficulty that we persuaded him that they were not appropriate footwear for church this Sunday. He had them on as soon as we got home though!

Day 9

01.09.2010 | end of the tree
01.09.2010 | end of the tree

We finally got our Christmas tree taken down today and cut up into pieces to burn. It was so dry that it went up in flames really quickly and burned hotly.

Day 8

01.08.2010 | dreaming
01.08.2010 | dreaming

I forgot to take a photo until right before I went to bed, so I grabbed the camera and took a quick photo of our sleeping pooch, Mocha.

Day 7

01.07.2010 | relax
01.07.2010 | relax

My bedroom. I've had the same Christmas duvet on for over a year and I felt like it was time for a change so today I moved around some furniture and changed up the linens. I'm not done yet, but I'm already enjoying the new space.

Day 6

01.06.2010 | ready to brew
01.06.2010 | ready to brew

Our Breville coffee maker is without a doubt my favorite appliance that we own. I love getting a great cup of coffee in under a minute!

Day 5

01.05.2010 . monkey see, monkey do
01.05.2010

Peter with our first digital camera (I can just imagine him saying "just one more picture, I promise!"). Nevermind that he's holding it backwards!

Monday, January 4, 2010

Day 4

01.04.2010 . the christmas angel
01.04.2010

While getting ready to take down the Christmas decorations for the year, I decided to take a photo of the angel that John had made. It's a good thing I did; later that afternoon he brought it to me in pieces. I guess one of the boys must have decided to disassemble it permanently.

Sunday, January 3, 2010

Day 3

01.03.2010 . let's party
01.03.2010

Peter finally figured out how to blow out... every time he made this little party favor inflate, he'd let out a giggle and stomp his feet in glee!

Saturday, January 2, 2010

Day 2

01.02.2010 . getting organized
01.02.2010

While we were gone, we had our closet redone so I got to come home to a much more organized clothes storage system. Having a new-found love for scarves, I was very excited to finally have a place to keep them, so I took a quick photo while I was unpacking everything.

Day 1

01.01.2010 . halfway home
01.01.2010

We spent New Year's Day in the car, driving home from CO after our halfway stop in Utah. The snow lasted for well over half the trip and I rolled down the window and snapped some photos while we were cruising along the highway.
